Without euro there will be no united strong Europe

The European business community believes that safeguarding and strengthening the euro is fundamental to the future economic prosperity and social cohesion of our continent. Therefore, the euro area leaders need to give greater urgency to decisive actions which can safeguard the European currency. "Collapse of the euro would actually mean the end of the European Union" - said Henryka Bochniarz, President of PKPP Lewiatan.

European business leaders on economic crisis in EU

A meeting with President Bronisław Komorowski opened a two-day meeting of European business leaders - the Council of Presidents BUSINESSEUROPE, the biggest association of employers in Europe. The main subject of the meeting is the economic crisis within the European Union and the euro area. It was organized by the Polish Confederation of Private Employers Lewiatan.

40 per cent of Poles would like to start a business

"Since July 1st, 2011, when facilitations were introduced for people starting their own businesses, 80 thousand individuals have registered their businesses in Poland. The most popular trades among the new entrepreneurs include building and e-commerce" - Dariusz Bogdan, undersecretary of state in the Ministry of Economy, informed during a conference "Are people in Poland really entrepreneurial?" which was organized by PKPP Lewiatan and Amway Polska.  

EUROPEAN DECISIONS ARE KEY TO RESTORING CONFIDENCE AND GROWTH

BUSINESSEUROPE and the leaders of its 41 member federations from 35 European countries urge the European Union to put an end to the political indecision which is fuelling financial market instability and undermining consumer and business confidence.
Through its members, BUSINESSEUROPE represents more than 20 million small, medium and large companies employing some 120 million people in Europe. Despite continuing economic uncertainty and financial market instability, many of these companies remain positive about long-term growth prospects. They are seeking to invest in new plant or technologies and to expand into new markets.

Sopot Declaration - Europe, it is high time for action!

On the last day of the European Forum for New Ideas business representatives signed the declaration for the bright future of European Union. The document was handled in to Polish Prime Minister, European Parliament President and President of the European Council.

Is growth the only alternative to the world?

Either EU will continue to integrate or it will end up with disintegration, which will lead to the breakdown of the Euro zone. However, the disadvantage of Europe is lack of decision-making. EU is filled up with chaos, with plentiful of recommendations, yet without any movements. New dimensions of competitiveness

On the 2nd day of EFNI, in the „New dimensions of competitiveness" panel, participants debated on competitiveness in Europe at the level of corporations, countries and the entire continent. The discussion headed for finding out of the recommendation for the competitiveness growth of the Old Continent.

Response to the Green Paper - The EU Corporate governance framework

PKPP Lewiatan welcomes the opportunity to present its opinion in accordance to the consultation launched by the Commission in regard to the Green Paper, The EU Corporate governance framework.

National budget for 2012 is correct, although not too ambitious

The draft of the national budget for 2012 is economically correct and possible to execute provided that some optimistic assumptions are fulfilled. However, it does not include implementation of some essential structural changes and international financial markets may recognize it not to be too ambitious when they take into consideration the scale of savings - thinks PKPP Lewiatan.

E-commerce will be easier

PKPP Lewiatan was pleased to hear the statement made by the EU Justice Commissioner Viviane Reding in Sopot at a meeting of the EU member states ministers of justice in which she said that she would present the European Commission with the so called contract law in autumn.
