Initiatives
The PKPP Lewiatan undertakes multiple actions whose primary aim is to support particular industries and circles. Such initiatives gather interested entrepreneurs around economic problems important for their businesses. Frequently they have an educational value or facilitate business contacts.
Mediation Centre

The Mediation Centre at the Polish Confederation of Private Employers Lewiatan is an institution aimed at a modern and amicable settlement of economic and social disputes. The PKPP Lewiatan promotes the idea of mediation since it is the most important and the simplest form of an alternative settlement of disputes. The mediation consists in management of negotiations between parties to the conflict, carried out by a third person who assists the parties in reaching the agreement.

Forum of the Young

Forum of the Young is an independent and separated organisational unit of the Polish Confederation of Private Employers Lewiatan. Due to their personal activity the Forum members gain knowledge and experiences useful in their future work. The Forum participates in the PKPP Lewiatan works, organises annual Academy of Entrepreneurship, engages in important economic debates. It has its own regional structures and develops its cooperation with similar organisations acting abroad. Members of the Forum include first of all students and graduates of the business higher schools.

Confederates for Confederates

The k2.prywatni.pl website is dedicated to the business people wishing for a better promotion of their firms – to all those looking for new contracts and business contacts, and appreciating good company and climate. Participation in the programme will make it possible to get necessary information, present one’s own products and services, as well as to establish and maintain active business relations.

Lewiatan Business Angels

Lewiatan Business Angels (LBA) matches entrepreneurs who have innovative ideas and ambitious development plans with private investors (so called business angels). LBA assists in gaining capital for companies on an early stage of their development, including so called start-ups, which are not financed by banks (due to the lack of sureties) nor by venture capitals (too small scale of investments). Investors associated in the LBA club receive attractive proposals for capital investments – a quick increase in the value of small innovative companies may result in the annual ROI equalling 50 percent and more. The project website contains a lot of information and guidebooks useful in preparing business plans as well as in determining conditions of the transaction with the investor.

Private Sector Liaison Officer to the World Bank Group

The PKPP Lewiatan and World Bank carry out a common initiative aimed at maximising the participation of Polish companies in projects financed by the Bank. To this end a post of Private Sector Liaison Officer to the World Bank Group has been established. The Officer assists entrepreneurs in taking advantages of the World Bank offer. the PSLO acts in a resilient and dynamically developing international network of “liaison officers” embedded in the business organisations, who exchange on an on-going basis information concerning activities on emerging markets.

Personal Directors Council

The Personal Directors Council is an advisory body of the PKPP Lewiatan in matters concerning labour relations and social dialogue. The Council constitutes a forum where experts prepare opinions on draft legal acts and other documents, explain legal doubts, interpret legal rules, share experiences and problems, formulate proposals for changes. The Council meets with representatives of authorities and organises trainings in the field of broadly defined labour relations.

Taxation Council

The PKPP Lewiatan Taxation Council is an advisory body of the Board and President in matters concerning the tax legislation. The Council consists of managers responsible in the member companies for the tax and financial issues, as well as experts from consulting companies associated with the Polish Union of Consulting Employers and the PKPP Lewiatan office.

Arbitration Tribunal

The Arbitration Tribunal at the PKPP Lewiatan is a modern institution aimed at a quick settlement of economic disputes between entrepreneurs. For business people this means a better access to the justice and reduction of costs of economic activity. Establishing the Arbitration Tribunal follows the world trends for the more and more common usage of alternative and amicable ways and methods of settlement of disputes. Benefits of the arbitration proceedings, apart from lower costs and shorter time, include professionalism of arbiters, enforcement of judgments as in the case of common courts and confidential nature of proceedings. Establishment of the Arbitration Tribunal was possible thanks to co-financing of this project by the EU European Regional Development Fund.
